Chunky Pickle Slices Ingredients
4 qt Medium
cucumber
s, unpeeled,
4 c
Sugar
6 c White
onion
s, sliced
3 c
Cider vinegar
1 2/3 c Green
pepper
s, sliced
2 tb
Mustard
seed
3
Garlic
cloves
1 1/2 ts
Turmeric
1/3 c Pickling
salt
1 1/2 ts
Celery
seed
Cracked ice
Instructions for Chunky Pickle Slices
Combine the cucumbers, onions, green peppers, garlic and salt in a large container, cover with the cracked ice; mix well. Let mixture stand for 3 hours; drain well and remove garlic. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the cucumber mixture. Bring to a boil. Pack cucumbers and liquid into hot jars, leaving 1/2" head space. Adjust lids and process in a boiling water bath (half pints or pints) for 5 minutes. makes 8 pints Posted to MM-Recipes Digest by Paula
