Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cream together the Crisco and sugar, add egg and molasses. Sift together remaining ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Combine well. Form the dough into balls (about the size of walnuts) and roll in additional granulated sugar. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake about 8-10 minutes until cookies appear flattened, crackled and lightly browned. Enjoy! These are fabulous and easy! I've made them for my daughter and used 1tsp each ginger and pumpkin pie spice and added 1/2 tsp cloves because the kids don't like ginger. For my dad, I used all the ginger, 1/2 tsp cloves and added 1/4 tsp cayenne! They were great! Great recipe!
