Ingredients

Preparation

Melt butter. In separate bowl, mix together sugars and cocoa. Add melted butter. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour and baking powder. Add vanilla and nuts. *DO NOT OMIT NUTS!!!! The brownies are noticeably moister WITH the nuts. The recipe calls for walnuts, but I prefer pecans (must be because Im in Georgia). Bake in 9"x13" pan 30 mins at 350 degrees F. I'm allergic to nuts so did not put them in. First time I made this I thought the scraping of the bowl afterwards was delicious and the brownies were good. The last time I made them I used tub margarine which actually seemed to make the mix not sweet but the brownies like dark chocolate. I wish the recipe made a little less to be honest because you will want to eat all of them

I don't like nuts in my brownies, so I used chocolate chips instead. They were great!

The cocoa powder makes these brownies both very rich and very easy. I haven't made brownies with melted chocolate since discovering these.

Great tasting and easy. Nice texture. Not too heavy. My kids are raving about them.

I made this the other day and they were FANTASTIC! I made only one small change -- I used whole wheat flour instead of white flour. And my goodness, people in my house attacked them. These were so fantastic I fully intend to make them again tonight! Sooo Good!

Fabulous! Not the most attractive brownie, but you cannot judge a brownie by it's cover. I made the recipe as directed, with the nuts, but I did grease the bottom of the pan as is customary with brownies. Definitely a keeper. It may be my favorite brownie recipe from now on.
