Neither Cake Nor Candy (Brownies) Ingredients

1 1/2 Chocolate, unsweetened, squa	1/2 c Flour
2 tb Butter	1 ts Vanilla
1 c Sugar	1/2 c Raisins, chopped
2 Egg, well beaten	1/2 c Nuts, chopped

Instructions for Neither Cake Nor Candy (Brownies)

Melt chocolate and butter together over hot water. Add the sugar and vanilla; mix well. Then add the well beaten eggs. Sift the flour and stir in with the nuts and raisins. Bake in a well-greased shallow pan at 350-F for 20 minutes. When cool, cut in squares. Source: Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book - Fine Old Recipes, Culinary Arts Press, 1936.
