Nestle Toll House (Chocolate Chip) Cookies Ingredients

Flour
1 1/2 cups
Brown sugar
; firmly packed
2 teaspoons
Baking soda
2 teaspoons
Vanilla
2 teaspoons
Salt
4 Whole
eggs
1 cup
Butter
4 cups
Semisweet chocolate
chips
1 cup
Shortening
2 cups Chopped nuts
1 1/2 cups
Sugar
Instructions for Nestle Toll House (Chocolate Chip) Cookies
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in bowl, set aside. Cream together butter and shortening;add sugars,and vanilla;beat well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. gradually beat in flour mixture, stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased baking sheets. Is this the perfect cookie? I don't know, but it's probably been the one I've consumed the most of in my forty-odd years. It's a terrific, versatile, fun-to-make-with-the-kids, and just fine for holiday gift-giving.
