Old Fashioned Aussie Damper Ingredients

4 c Self-raisning flour 1/2 c Water
1 ts Salt Extra flour, to dust
60 g Butter Herb butter, to serve
1 1/2 c Buttermilk

Instructions for Old Fashioned Aussie Damper

(1) Preheat oven to moderately hot 210c. Lightly grase a flat baking tray. Place flour, salt and butter into a bowl. Rub butter through flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. (2) Add the buttermilk and water, then mix to a dough. Knead into a ball on a floured surface, then flatten to a circle about 20cm in diameter. Mark a cross in the top and dust with flour.
