Ingredients

  • 2 Boneless New York strip
  • (2 1/2" thick and 1 1/2 lbs
  • Vegetable-oil cooking spray
  • 2 tb Olive oil
  • Coarse salt
  • Freshly-ground black pepper

Preparation

Drizzle both sides of the steaks with olive oil; season with salt and pepper. Prepare a charcoal or gas grill, arrange coals for direct cooking. Lightly coat rack with cooking spray. Coals should be glowing white. Place the steaks on grill. For rare, cook 8 minutes per side; 10 minutes for medium-rare. Let the meat rest 1 to 2 minutes, then serve. Serves 2 to 4.
