Ingredients
- 250 g Dates; chopped
- 185 g Sultanas
- 1 400 gram tin sweetened
- 150 g Plain flour
- 150 g Wholemeal self-raising flour
- 1/2 ts Bi-carbonate of soda
- 60 g Glace cherries; halved
- 1 tb Orange marmalade
- 275 g Unsalted butter
- 275 ml Water
- 60 g Walnuts; chopped
- 125 g Raisins
Preparation
1. Place raisins, dates, sultanas, butter, condensed milk and water in a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer gently, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool. 2. Pre-heat oven to 180deg.C. Line a 30cm X 20cm cake tin with Glad Bake. 3. Sieve flours and bi-carbobnate of soda into a large mixing bowl. Add fruit mixture with cherries and marmalade and mix well. Spoon into prepared tin and bake about 30-40 minutes or until golden on top and cooked when tested with a wooden skewer. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack. Converted by MC_Buster.
