Maple Pecan Squares Ingredients
CRUST
1/4 c
Butter
1 1/4 c
All-purpose flour
1/4 ts
Salt
(optional)
1/4 c
Brown sugar
1 c
Pecan
halves
1/2 c Melted
butter
1/2 ts
Vanilla
TOPPING
2 tb
All-purpose flour
2/3 c
Brown sugar
2
Eggs
, beaten
3/4 c
Maple syrup
Instructions for Maple Pecan Squares
Preheat oven to 350?. For crust, mix flour, sugar and butter; press into an 11"x7" baking pan. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Increase oven heat to 450?F. To make the topping, simmer sugar and syrup for 5 minutes. Mix in the rest of the ingredients; pour over base. Bake for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350?F and bake for 20 minutes. Cut squares when cool. Store in airtight container. Makes approximately 2 dozen.
