Beef Stew in Beer Ingredients

50 g Butter; unsalted 2 Sprigs thyme
2 lb Diced topside of beef 1 3/4 pt Newcastle brown ale
1/4 ts Ground coriander 2 tb Flour
4 Shallots; diced 2 tb Dijon mustard

Instructions for Beef Stew in Beer

Fry off the shallots in the butter. Add the beef and brown for 4-5 minutes. Add the flour and cook. Add the coriander and thyme and mustard. Add the beer and cover the meat. Simmer gently for 11/2 hours approximately. Remove the meat and keep warm. Strain the sauce and serve. Accompany with sweet potato pie. DISCLAIMER(c) Copyright 1996 - SelecTV Cable Limited.
