In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients thoroughly together, making sure the spare ribs are well coated. Leave to marinate for at least 1 hour. Cook the spare ribs over charcoal, about 15 minutes each side. The tiny, thin spare ribs from young piglets will need less. Any remaining marinade can be poured over the ribs while they are cooking.
