Instructions for No Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies
In a very large mixing bowl, combine the butter and shortening. Add the sugars and cream until thoroughly blended. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat well. In seperate bowl, measure the flour sifted with the salt and baking soda. Add the flour mixture into the sugars by fourths, stirring after each addition. Add the chocolate chips and nuts, if desired, and mix until all is incorperated. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for approx. 14 - 15 minutes at 350 degees F. Makes about 100 cookies. These cookies freeze well. A cookie tip: When storing your cookies in anything airtight, place a piece of fresh white bread in the container with your cookies. The bread will keep your cookies soft. When the bread turns rock hard, discard it.

It was perfect exactly the way it is. Though I might add oatmeal just for a change once in a while :) Thanks for the great recipe. It was a perfect treat for my whole family.

I''ve been making these cookies for years and have never had a failure. This is a good recipe. Note that the more reflective the cookie sheet the less likelyhood of burnt cookie bottoms.
