Make Ahead Irish Stew Ingredients

2 lb. stew beef cubes 1 bag frozen green beans
6 large potatoes 1 large bay leaf
1/2 cup water 1/4 cup oil
1 small can stewed tomatoes 1/2 cup flour
8 med. carrots salt and pepper to taste
4 med. onions

Instructions for Make Ahead Irish Stew

Do ahead of time: (at night before bed?) Coat beef with flour, salt & pepper (use a bag to dredge it in) and brown in oil.

Then: (in the morning?)
Wash, peel and slice all of the vegetables. Add the vegetables and water to crockpot to simmer. Throw seasonings and the rest of the mixture in the crock and cook on LOW for about 4 hours. The gravy will thicken and is best sopped up with fresh warm bread or biscuits."

Ingredient Insight - look inside this recipe

I have prepared this dish at night and kept it in the refridgerator right in the crock until morning and then dumped it in just before noon. I am not sure how this dish would turn out if left to cook all day though.
