Double Layered Kick Ass Chocolate Creme Filled Cake Ingredients
3 cups All purpose
flour
1 cup
Vegetable oil
2 cups
Sugar
1 teaspoon
Vanilla
extract
1/3 cup Unsweetened
cocoa
1/4 cup
Butter
2 teaspoon
Baking soda
1/4 cup
Shortening
1 teaspoon
Salt
2 cup Confectioners
Sugar
2
Egg
1 pinch
Salt
1 cup
Milk
3 tablespoon
Milk
1 cup Water
1 teaspoon
Vanilla
extract
Instructions for Double Layered Kick Ass Chocolate Creme Filled Cake
1) Preheat oven to 350. Grease two round cake pans.
2) Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the eggs, 1 cup of milk, water, oil and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Mix well.
3) Bake for 35-40 minutes. Check with a toothpick in the middle for dry crumbly goodness ;-)
4) For the cream filling - Beat butter and shortening until smooth. Blend in confectioners sugar and salt; Gradually beat in 3 tablespoons of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until light and fluffy. Fill a piping bag (or make one out of a freezer bag) and squirt cream filling on top of one cake, cover with the other. Spread on favorite icing. Enjoy. Share. Brag.

It is a very rich cake but moist, the creamy filling works well with one whole fresh vanilla bean (seeds) instead of essence. I also made a ganache to cover mine which was just the thing to make it an elegant cake. 200g of decent dark cooking chocolate and 2/3 cup of thickened cream. Chop chocolate and add to cream while cold and melt together in a double boiler mixing constantly, cool to pouring consistancy and coat the whole cake.
