Mom's Chili Sauce Ingredients

6 quart Tomatoes ripe and chopped6 cups White sugar
6 lg Onion 3 cups White vinegar
1 bunch Celery 3 drops Oil of pickling spice or to taste
4 Sweet red peppers -- Pickling spice substitute --
2 Sweet green peppers 1 tablespoon Whole cloves
4 tblspoons Salt 3 tblspoons Whole allspice

Instructions for Mom's Chili Sauce

Using a blender mix all ingredients (coarsly chopped not pureed) and boil for 1 hour.

If required it can be thickened with corn starch.

Note:
The oil of pickling spice is getting hard to find. If you do find it a small jar will last for years.
If you can not find it use the substitute and place in a cheescloth bag while cooking and remove afterwards.

Bottle in quart preserve jars as for any preserve.

This is indeed the best Chili Sauce around...I still can't eat sausages without it lol Thanks for supplying me with it thru the years Dad! One day i'll see if i can supply you with a bottle of mine ;)
