Chicken Strips Ingredients
2 pounds Boneless
chicken breast
1/2 teaspoon
Oregano
(dried)
1/4 cup
Flour
1/2 teaspoon
Basil
(dried)
1 cup Cheezits crushed
1
Egg
(beaten with 1 teaspoon water)
1 cup
Bread crumbs
(seasoned)
Salt
optional
1/4 cup
Parmesan
cheese grated
Pepper
to taste
Instructions for Chicken Strips
Preheat oven to 400F
Chicken breast should be skinless and cut into bite size pieces or strips. Rinse and pat dry. Make sure to keep hands and cutting surfaces clean and don't let young children touch the uncooked poultry if they are helping (I let mine do the cheesit crushing though!)
In plastic bag, combine cheezits, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, oregano, and basil.
In another plastic bag, combine flour and salt & pepper.
Toss chicken pieces in flour mixture& shake to coat. Shake off excess coating.
Dip floured chicken pieces in egg/water mixture, coating all sides.
Toss chicken pieces in cheezit/bread crumb mixture and shake to coat. Press pieces into mixture to make sure there is a nice coating on chicken.
Spray cookie sheet or other shallow baking dish with non-stick cooking spray, and place pieces on pan. Bake for 10-13 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with dipping sauce of your choice.
Number of servings depends on how much each will eat, but the recipe is easy to double or halve.
