Anita's Crockpot Lemon Chicken Ingredients

6 large chicken breasts 6 to 8 breasts1 cups Real Lemon Brand Lemon Juice or juice of 6 lemons
1/2 teaspoon lawry's garlic salt 1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 stick real butter

Instructions for Anita's Crockpot Lemon Chicken

Use 4-6 large chicken breasts or mixed chicken pieces - bone-in or out.

Put chicken in crockpot and Add 1+ cups of Lemon Juice mixed with 1/2 cup of Worcestershire Sauce. (I use RealLemon Brand lemon juice). If I have fresh lemons, I use the juice squeezed from 6 of them, which comes out to be about 1 cup, plus maybe 1/4 or so more, depending on your lemons.

Put the stick of butter on top of all.

Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt and some pepper on chicken.

Cover and cook on high for 6 hours or Low 10 hours.

This makes a wonderful lemon sauce that is great on rice or mashed
potatoes. The sauce is thin but it is still delicious. I've never tried thickening the sauce, but I don't imagine it would be difficult to achieve with a little flour the last hour or so of cooking.

This can also be made in the oven -- Cook in 275 degree oven for about 2.5+ hours and baste with the lemon sauce from the pan frequently -- about every 30 minutes.

Tender and delicious. My girls request this often.

Ingredient Insight - look inside this recipe

My family and I loved this recipe. However, it didn't take as long to cook in the crockpot. I cooked it on high for 4 1/2 hours and it was done. I added diced onions, and instead of garlic salt, I used Mrs. Dash's lemon pepper. My teenage sons raved about how good it was. This is a hit and will definitely be made again.

I really liked this recipe, but I think I will alter the lemon juice from 1 cup to 1/2 cup next time. I did use all of the other ingredients called for in the recipe, but it was still a little tart for my tastes. I could substitute chicken broth, or maybe plain water, Im not sure yet.

I like this recipe, however after I was done, I used heavy cream to thicken the sauce and threw in some capers. Worked out well for the too thin "sauce" that the chicken was cooked in. Will probably make this one again and again!

Changed the garlic salt to 3 cloves of garlic, and added some onion and carrot to the pot (didn't have any other vegetables). I love a good sauce on steamed rice. Might try the chicken broth version next time, and that stuffed pepper looks good.

I used 1/2 cup lemon juice and 1/2 cup water.. That worked out better for taste.. Cooking times are off it seems, or my Crockpot cooks faster.. I did high setting and it was done in 4 hours or less... Next time I will set it for low and cook for 6 hours.

I cooked it in the oven. It was a little tart. Next time I will substitute half a cup chicken broth for half the lemon juice. Very tasty.

Nice one Webtexan, served with savory rice (packet) and red pepper stuffed with lemon Couscous, corriander and chedder cheese. Whole clove of garlic included in pot.
