Lemony Pigs Ingredients

1 medium Lemon 2 round Toothpicks
2 whole Cloves

Instructions for Lemony Pigs

You will need a VERY sharp small knife. Be extra careful while you are carving. The idea is to cut the lemon rind, not yourself nor anyone else.

Pick an interesting shaped lemon. The stem end will become the pig's "snout".
Start by cutting a thin, round flap at the back BUT don't cut it all the way off. Now carve the flap onto a spiral to for a "tail".

A downward facing flap on each side of the head will be come an "ear" and a small curved notch under the "snout" (Where the stem was) will become the "mouth".

Pop the seed pod off of each clove and insert the stem of the clove at appropriate spots for "eyes".

Cut each toothpick in half and insert them in the bottom for "legs". You may have to adjust the length a bit to get the pig to stand correctly.

Kids enjoy helping with these but you have to be careful with the knife. If they're old enough let them try it themselves. Otherwise let them help plan where the cuts should be. [I posted this recipe.]
