bacon and cheese quiche

Create A Quiche

A recipe to use up those dibs and dabs that fill the fridge. My sister always served a version of this quiche at her Christmas brunch. I always served it at holiday parties.

It's a fairly good recipe. I like how simple it is. My quiche was not as tasty because I used the wrong kind of meat. I will definitely go for bacon, sausage, ham or even hot dogs-meat with flavor already.

A big hit! Three of us polished the whole thing off in one sitting. I used a frozen deep dish pie crust, 3/4 c. diced ham (1/4" cubes), and 1 c. shredded Mild Cheddar and 1 c. shredded Sharp Cheddar. I think next time I might reduce the milk a smidge. I also used a pie crust cover ring for the first 45 minutes to keep the edges from getting too brown. Can't wait to try again, and with different ingredients.

We've had several variations, and this recipe is a perfect diving board for that. My husband has a new favorite breakfast! No more cold cereal for us! I make mine at night and reheat the next morning!

I made mine with chopped spinach, mushrooms, and some finely chopped bacon and a bit of onion. It was just right!

I liked the simple structure and room to embelish. next time I'l try adding a meat with it..maybe ham or chicken. Served with a tossed green salad and iced tea,a perfect less time , better food Quiche for me !
