Amanda's Peanut Butter Hershey Kiss Cookies Ingredients

INGREDIENTS: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup butter softened1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon salt
1 cup packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs 1 bag Hershey Kisses wrapper removed.
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions for Amanda's Peanut Butter Hershey Kiss Cookies

DIRECTIONS:
Cream the butter, butter flavored shortening, and 1 cup of white sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar. Add eggs and blend. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and stir until well blended.
Measure out tablespoonfuls of dough and roll into balls. Roll cookies in 2 tablespoons of sugar. Place one Hershey Kiss in the middle of each cookie, pressing down slightly. Place 3 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) 8-10 minutes until set, but not hard. Do not overbake. Leave on sheets for 2 minutes before removing. Cool, and store in covered container.

My grandma made these cookies with this exact recipe every Christmas when I was growing up and now I do the same. They are always a crowd-pleaser and so incredibly simple. Lots of fun to make with the kids, too. If they are too young to bake, they can at least unwrap the kisses and be a part of it all.

Notes: You can also leave the Hershey Kisses off and make a criss-cross pattern with a fork for delicious peanut butter cookies. [I posted this recipe.]
