I had a similar dish recently at a German restaurant in Dresden. This is my version of that dish. It's creamy with a great light lemon flavor and is excellent topped with grilled salmon.

Penne Pasta with Lemon Sauce Ingredients

4 tblspoons Butter 1 teaspoon Lime zest
1 cup Heavy whipping cream 1 cup Beef broth
2 tblspoons Lemon juice fresh10 ounces Penne pasta
1 teaspoon Lemon zest

Instructions for Penne Pasta with Lemon Sauce

In an extra large skillet, combine the butter, cream and broth. Simmer over medium heat until reduced by about half. Add the lemon juice, lemon and lime zest and set aside.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente; drain.

Toss pasta with sauce and serve. Top with large chunks of grilled salmon or chicken.

A great dish! I added some sauteed wild mushrooms (pictured) and served this alongside broiled lemon chicken and a salad. It made for a very tasty meal.

I liked it but hubby and 4 YO did not. (Both super picky) IT could have used some veggies though. I would make it again but add either asparagus or broccoli to it.
