Lion House Dinner Rolls Ingredients

2 package Active dry yeast 2/3 c Instant dry milk
2 c Warm Water 5 c Flour
1/3 c Sugar 1 Egg
1/3 c Butter, melted or vegetable shortening Butter, melted
2 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions for Lion House Dinner Rolls

Combine yeast and water in large mixing bowl, stirring until dissolved; let stand 5 minutes. Add sugar, butter, salt, dry milk, 2 cups of the flour, and egg. Beat mixture either by machine or with rubber spatula until smooth. Add 2 cups more flour, one at a time, and beat until smooth. Add 1 cup more flour, 1/2 c at a time, until well mixed.

Turn dough out on floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Round into ball and place in warm buttered bowl, turning to coat top. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and a towel and let rise until tripled, about 1 hour.

Brush 3 large baking sheets with melted butter. Punch down dough and turn out on lightly floured surface. Use last of flour, as needed, for rolling and moulding dough. Do not use any more flour if dough is moist but not sticky. Cover dough and let rest 10 minutes. Mold dough into desired shapes. Place rolls on baking sheet and brush rolls surface with melted butter. Cover, let rise until light, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
