Preheat oven to 450F. Stir together the filling ingredients. Put the mixture in an ungreased 8x8 inch pan. Sift together the flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
Whisk together the oil and buttermilk. Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour the wet into the depression. Using a fork, quickly mix together the wet and dry until the flour is mist and lumps form. Create a ball of dough by kneading with the palm of your hand. Knead only until a rough ball forms.
Drop portions of the dough onto the fruit until the pan is covered (a few holes are ok). Bake for 40 minutes until the biscuit browns and the fruit bubbles.
