Cherry Dump Cake

I used to make this often when we were camping. It is quick, easy and tasty pretty good too. Can't ask for better than that.

Ingredients

  • 24 onces Cherry pie filling as required
  • 21 ounces Pineapple canned, light syrup pack
  • 1 box Yellow cake mix as required
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts chopped
  • 3 tbs Butter as required

Preparation

Place cherry pie filling in 2 qt casserole.

Place pineapple on top (undrained) sprinkle with nuts.

Cover fruit evenly with cake mix.

Dot with butter. Bake ~~at; 350 for about 40 minutes.

Cake will be crispy.

Apple filling may also be used.

With this recipe, the trick is, you must cut the cube of butter into very thin slices, and put over the cake almost like a layer over the top, so the crust will cook thouroughly. I have had friends who made this recipes not cover the top evenly and there are parts that never cook. Everyone loves this.
