Amaretto Ingredients
1 cup white
sugar
2 cups of inexpensive
vodka
1 cup water
2 tablespoons
almond extract
1/2 cup
brown sugar
(packed)
2 teaspoons
vanilla
extract
Instructions for Amaretto
Combine water, white sugar and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until boiling and all sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let mixture cool down for 10 - 20 minutes. Pour in vodka, almond and vanilla extracts. Mix well and store in a sealed bottle.

You can double, triple or 20 times the ingredients a make one large batch with the same results. The only expensive part of this recipe is the almond extract. If you buy it from Costco or Sam's Club the cost drops dramatically. Since you are flavoring the vodka it doesn't really get you anything using an expensive vodka. I use what ever the liquor store has for $7 - $10 for a half of gallon. The only way to mess this recipe up is to add the vodka and extracts and then bring it to a boil. If you do that you will burn the alcohol away. While you can drink it right away it does become smoother in a month or two. [I posted this recipe.]
