Ingredients
- 1 1/3 pounds Ground chuck
- 1 medium Yellow onion sliced and quartered
- 2 lbs Potato sliced and halved
- 4 tblspoons Butter
- pinch Salt to taste
- pinch Pepper to taste
- pinch Garlic powder to taste
Preparation
This doesn't sound like much but if you like burgers and potatoes... you'll love it. goes great with ketchup too. My mom used to make this when i was a kid. Another comfort food for our family then, and my family now! It's very filling. When i make mine... i use at least 1/2 a pound for my burger.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Tear off 4 long sheets of aluminium foil. Make sure it's a better quality, heavier foil. 18-24" should suffice.
Seperate beef into four equal servings - about 1/3 lb each. Shape into meatballs and slightly mash down to form think burgers.
Spray non-stick cooking spray on the foil.
Place an onion slice on the foil, top with the thick burger, then another slice of onion. Place 1/2 lb of sliced potatoes next to or on each side of the burger. add sliced onion. Sprinkle everything with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. add 1 tblspoon of butter to the potatoes.
Pull the sides up on the foil and seal to make a "bag". Repeat this process to create 4 servings.
Place foil "bags" on a cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour.
