Grandmas Au Gratin Potatoes Ingredients

5 pound Potatoes yukon gold3 cups Milk
1/4 pound Butter 3 tablespoon Mustard
2/3 cup Flour 1/2 pound Velvetta

Instructions for Grandmas Au Gratin Potatoes

Boil the potatoes. When fork tender drain. Peel and cut into small cubes.
Make a sauce and mix with potatoes in a large baking dish.

Sauce.
Melt 1 stick butter in a sauce pan. Add 2/3 cup flour, stir continually until mixed well. This will be a thick paste. Add 2 cups of milk by pouring a small stream into the flour mixture, stir constantly. When smooth add 1 more cup of milk, stir well.

Add 3 heaping tablespoons of yellow mustard. Bring this mixture to a boil and remove from heat.

Add 1/2 lb of velveta cheese cut into cubes. Let the cheese melt and mix well.

Pour sauce over the potatoes, mixing to be sure all potatoes are covered. Place in oven and bake on moderate heat until slightly brown - approx 1 hour.
