Beef n' Barley Kettle Ingredients

1 lb. sirloin diced4 cups water
1 1/2 tsp. salt 2 cups barley cooked (more or less to your preference)
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt 1 can (14.5 oz) fire roasted tomatoes diced or crushed (optional) (Muir Glen brand is very good)
2 medium onions chopped2 can (14 oz) beef broth
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper 1 cup red pepper diced
1 1/2 tsp. black peppercorns crushed or coarsely ground1 cup yellow pepper diced
2 tbsp. butter

Instructions for Beef n' Barley Kettle

Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper, set aside. Cook onion in butter in large saucepan until tender. Add beef, cook until no longer pink. Add water, broth, barley, tomatoes (if using) and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 to 10 minutes. Stir in bell peppers, cover and simmer 5 minutes longer.
