Garam Masala

Garam is the Indian word for "warm" or "hot." It is an aromatic spice blend of different dry-roasted, ground spices from the colder climes of northern India. It is intended to add a sense of "warmth" to both palate and spirit. Many Indian recpies call for this spice which is simple to make but not always easy to find.
