Steam rutabaga until tender.
Remove from heat; let stand until cool.
Coarsely shred rutabaga. Preheat oven to 350F.
Combine remaining ingredients, except for 1/4 cup of cheese, in a medium bowl.
Add rutabaga, stirring lightly.
Turn into a 1-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake 35 minutes, or until heated through.
