Ingredient Insight - look inside this recipe

I had a surprise birthday party for my husband and had a beach/tropical theme. This salad was a hit. The combinations of tropical fruits had a wonderful flavor and was different then the normal fruit salads I always had served. If I can find the fruit in season I will make this fruit salad more often.

Wonderful! I used splenda instead of sugar and added an extra kiwi and half an orange. I sustituted OJ for tequila. This served seven people and I had four children asking for more!

This recipe is nothing short of astounding! The Tequila and lime juice are the perfect accompaniment to the tropical fruits. I've made this fruit salad twice so far, the second time substituting brown sugar for the white. Both were seriously delicious!

I can't possibly rave about this fruit salad enough! Excellent any time of day, for a side dish or as dessert. The perfect complement for Smoky Black Bean Enchiladas.
