Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares

This is one of my childhood favorites. A layer of creamy sweet peanut butter topped with a layer of chocolate, remniscent of Reese's peanut butter cups. These squares are quick and simple to make, and are so yummy and addictive! They also freeze well.

Ingredients

Preparation

Melt 1/2 cup (1 stick) of the butter in medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter, confectioner's sugar, and graham cracker crumbs. This will make a stiff dough.

Spread dough in a lightly greased 9- by 13-inch dish. Press down evenly.

Melt remaining 1/2 cup butter over low heat. Add chocolate chips and keep heat very low. When chocolate is soft, stir gently. Continue heating until lumps are all melted. Stir, and then spread this mixture over the peanut butter layer.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes, then cut into squares. Store in the refrigerator.

This recipe deserves a second comment! After the bars were in my fridge for a few hours, I tried them again. They were a bit soft after 30 minutes. They tasted just like Reeses peanut butter cups, only better! This is going under my favorites recipe!

i used trader joe's cinnamon graham crackers and, because i had too many left over from the recipe, i used them to sandwich the pb&c bars (partly because they're quite soft) and voila! OMG! they are delish! try it...they're fantastic!

These bars aren't evenly completely set yet, but they certainly are the best thing to enter my mouth! Very easy to make. There are many recipes out on the web for PBC bars... but this one is the best... due to the increased PB.

Fantastic Recipe if you like Chocolate-Peanut Butter! Fairly easy to make as well. Makes a good amount of bars, so you can have some to freeze as well.

This is a great, easy, kid friendly recipe! My young nieces made these tasty treats for the first time and where very pleased with the results they achieved (their results can be seen in the 2nd recipe image).
