Creamed Chipped Beef On Toast Ingredients

6 oz chipped beef 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 Tbs butter 2 to 3 Tbs pimentos
4 to 5 Tbs flour 6 English muffins toasted (or 6 slices toasted bread)
2 1/2 to 3 cups milk 1/2 cup frozen petite peas (optional)
1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions for Creamed Chipped Beef On Toast

1 Separate the beef slices and tear into bite size shreds.
2 Place the shreds in a colander and rinse under hot running water; drain well.
3 In a saucepan, heat the butter until moderately hot.
4 Add the beef and toss until curly, about 2 minutes.
5 Gradually add the flour, stirring as you add.
6 Add the milk and pepper.
7 Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened and smooth.
8 Stir in the cheddar cheese, pimentos and peas.
9 Cook until the cheese is completely melted and blended in.
10 Serve the chipped beef over the English muffins or toast.
11 Sprinkle with paprika.
