Sausage Meat and Spinach Pasta Reviews

100% would make "Sausage Meat and Spinach Pasta" again.

I just made this because I was really hungry and it seemed really quick to make. Sadly, I didn't have all the right ingredients so I substituted what I could. I used hot dogs instead of Italian Sausage (it's 1AM and no stores are open) and meat granules instead of the chicken bouillon. Honestly, I probably would've been better off not using the meat granule but the pasta did turn out pretty good in the end anyways.

I love the idea of being able to add and change a few things since this recipe was so simple. I give this 4 stars for my own mistake of using meat granules. If I try to make this again, I'll make sure to have chicken bouillon so that it's a 5 star. :] Love the easy and quick recipe.

I love fresh spinach and great simple recipes -- this dish combines both! I've made this several times now and have used both sweet and hot Italian sausage; penne, rigatoni and gemelli pastas; Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Romano and aged Asiago cheeses. I've stuck to the recipe as stated and it's turned out wonderfully. It's also a very versatile recipe that can easily adapted to your families taste. I've added thinly sliced sauteed garlic and sliced sauteed mushrooms. For a light creamy sauce, I've added about 1/2 cup warmed cream (or half-and-half) along with the cheese. Other good additions might include: asparagus, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes (oil removed and chopped), or red grape tomatoes. I think arugula would make a good alternative for the spinach.
