Or for a change up when nearly done add 1 more cup chicken broth and top with dumplins, simmer till till done ................................ This can be a very, very Hearty one pot meal.

Kidney Beans and Rice Ingredients

1 1/2 cup chopped onions 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 cup chopped celery 1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons minced garlic 2 smoked ham hock
1 lb kebasa sausage sliced about 1" thick 3 cans kidney beans
1/4 teaspoon black pepper 2 cups chicken stock
1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions for Kidney Beans and Rice

In a pot, saute the onions, celery, and garlic for 1-2 minutes. Add the sausage, black pepper, thyme, cayenne, and salt, saute for 2-3 minutes. Add the ham hock and beans. Cover the mixture with the stock. Bring up to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer. Serve over hot sticky rice.
