If using fresh sweet potatoes, bake & peel. Mash & mix with butter, sugar, eggs & vanilla until creamy; pour into a buttered 11"x7" baking dish.
Combine 1/3 c butter, brown sugar, flour & chopped pecans stirring until crumbly. Sprinkle over potato mixture.
Bake at 350 for 30" or until bubbly on top. Can make ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake. Haven't tried freezing it yet, but would probably work.
