This recipe will introduce your family to the lovely taste of turnips, without a lot of fuss. The cheese adds a special surprise as well. My 19 month old couldn't get enough, he finished his serving and then ate mine!!
fill a Large pot with cold water
Peel the potatoes and chop into chunks, place in pot with water
Peel the turnip and chop into chunks add to potatoes
Bring water to a boil
Potatoes are cooked when you can pierce one easily with a fork
Pour out water, but reserve a little in the pot
Add the salt, pepper, and butter to the potato/turnips and mash
Add milk to consistency you desire, salt and pepper to taste
Break string cheese into small chunks and stir into mash
Add ranch salad dressing, add as little or as much as you like to the mash
