Blend together the tomatoes and onion. Put meat in large pot and add rest of ingredients. Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer for 3 or 4 hours. Cook covered and simmer slowly but have slight movement. Wait until meat falls off bones before continuing. On a cutting board remove meat from pot with strainer and shred with a fork. Put meat on a separate plate. Removing fat and bones as you shred. After all meat is removed, strain liquid with cheesecloth or other method and return liquid to pot with meat. Heat 10 minutes more and serve on small hamburger buns to preserve tradition.
