Steak with Creamy Onion Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 medium Sweet onion thinly sliced
  • 4 6 oz Beef ribeye steaks 1" thick
  • 1 tablespoon Mediterranean seasoning blend or lemon-pepper seas
  • 8 ounce Sour cream
  • 2 tablespoon Capers drained

Preparation

1. Preheat broiler. Place onion slices in a single layer on the rack of an unheated broiler pan. Broil 3-4" from heat for 5 min.; turn onions. Meanwhile, sprinkle steaks with 1 1/2 t. of the seasoning blend. Place steaks on the broiler pan rack with onions. Broil steaks and onions about 5 min. or until onions are browned. Remove onions to a cutting board. Continue to broil steaks until desired doneness, turning once. Allow 7-9 min. more for med. rare (145?F) or 10-13 min more for med. (160?F).

2. Meanwhile, for sauce, coarsely chop onions. In a small suacepan, combine onion, sour cream, capers, and remaining 1 1/2 t. seasoning blend. Cookover medium-low heat until heated through (do not boil).

3. Transfer steaks to serivng plates. Spoon sauce over steaks.
