Cinnamon Crunch Walnut Loaf

My favorite way to eat this sweet, cinnamon-walnut quick bread is toasted with butter!

Ingredients


Preparation

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Combine walnuts and butter. Add 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon; mix well to coat walnuts. Set aside.

Combine remaining 3/4 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening. Combine egg and milk; blend well. Add to flour mixture; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Fold in walnut mixture. Spoon into greased pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F. for 65 to 70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
