Melt butter in large saucepan.
Add flour and stir.
After 1 minute when mixture completely blended and slightly thickened, add milk, macaroni and salt.
Stir and bring just to a boil DON'T OVERCOOK or it will curdle!
Lower heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes or so, stirring occasionally so it doesn't stick to bottom
Store in cheese till melted for about 2 minutes.
OVEN RECIPE
Preheat oven to 350
precook macaroni
Meanwhile, in large saucepan, melt butter, then add flour and stir till blended and slightly thickened.
Add milk and salt and bring just to boil.
Simmer 1-2 minutes until begins to thicken (DON'T OVERCOOK OR WILL CURDLE)
Add cheese, and stir till completely melted.
Add cooked macaroni and stir again.
Pour into greased 9x12 baking dish.
Sprinkle top with buttered breadcrumbs.
Bake 30 minutes or until cheese sauce bubbling around edges and breadcrumbs slightly browned
