Preparation

Let eggs, milk, and butter stand till room temperature. Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in vanilla. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans or 13x9 inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. This is a great basic recipe and easy to mix. I have not made a cake with Crisco for more than 30 years. I was not able to find my old, old, cookbook so I came to the internet and found this one.

Thanks to the presenter. I will use this recipe a lot.

I loved this recipe. I wanted to make strawberry shortcake but without a "biscuit-like" cake, so I found this recipe. I was out of vanilla extract(!!!!!) so had to used almond extract, but it was still lucsious and went great with my strawberries and whipped cream.
