Swedish Red Cabbage Ingredients

1 lg Red cabbage 2 tb ;water
1 Apple; cored 1/4 c Red wine or sherry
1 Onion 1 c Green peas
1/4 c Lemon juice Sea salt
2 tb Honey (or alternative) Black pepper
1 tb Vinegar

Instructions for Swedish Red Cabbage

1. Shred cabbage, slice apple and grate the onion. 2. Heat honey in a heavy pot, add cabbage, stirring to coat, cover and simmer 10 minutes. 3. Stir in rest of ingredients except peas, simmer again for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stir occasionally. 4. Stir in peas just before serving. This mixture will reduce to 1/2 the original size.
