Steamed Cabbage with Butter Ingredients

3 lb Green cabbage 1 ts Sugar
4 tb Unsalted butter 1 tb Salt
( 1/2 Stick) 1/2 ts Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 c Water

Instructions for Steamed Cabbage with Butter

1. Cut the cabbage into quarters. Remove any wilted and discolored outer leaves and cut out the core from the cabbage pieces. Cut the cabbage into a large (1-inch) dice. 2. Heat the butter and water to simmering in a 4-quart pot. Stir in the cabbage, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cover the pot and cook the cabbage, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 25 minutes.
