Black Bean and Sausage Posole Ingredients

12 oz Ground turkey sausage 1/2 c Sweet green peppers; chopped
1 cn Reduced-sodium chicken 1/3 c Onion; chopped
1 cn Black beans; (15 oz.) rinsed 1 Clove garlic; minced
1 cn Golden hominy; (14.5 ounce) 1/2 ts Chili powder
1 cn Mexican-style stewed 1 ts Dried oregano; crushed
1 c Frozen loose-pack diced hash

Instructions for Black Bean and Sausage Posole

In large saucepan, brown sausage. Add green pepper, onion, garlic and cook until tender. Stir in broth, black beans, hominy, tomatoes, potatoes, chili powder and oregano. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Serves 6. NOTES : Made 11-6-97. Added 1/2 tsp. more chili powder and 1 green chili, chopped. Used Jimmy Dean pork sausage.
