Half way through making this recipe I had to modify it. The sauce isn't sweet enough for Teriyaki, and not having any ginger left the taste flat. I suggest adding more honey or a heaping tablespoon of sugar. I also suggest adding a "node" of fresh ginger root. Blend it all up in a blender, and then add some toasted sesame seeds. After marinating chicken, simmer sauce in small pot to kill bacteria and thicken it a bit. I even used some of this sauce to mix with my stir fried vegetables. If you don't like your chicken so burnt, cook in 350 degree oven and finish the last 5 minutes with the broiler.
