Ingredients

Preparation

Combine onion, garlic, soy sauce, salad oil, wine and honey; mix well. Arrange chicken breasts, skin side down, in single layer in shallow baking dish. Pour sauce over chicken. Marinate at room temperature 30 minutes, turning several times. Arrange on rack in broiler. Save sauce. Broil 6-inches from heat, 15 minutes. Turn chicken skin side up; brush with sauce. Broil 10 to 15 minutes longer or until tender. Mean- while cook vegetables about 10 minutes before chicken is done. To serve, place vegetables on heated platter. Arrange chicken breasts on top. Could serve with rice also. Posted to recipelu-digest by "Diane Geary." on Feb 4, 1998

Half way through making this recipe I had to modify it. The sauce isn't sweet enough for Teriyaki, and not having any ginger left the taste flat. I suggest adding more honey or a heaping tablespoon of sugar. I also suggest adding a "node" of fresh ginger root. Blend it all up in a blender, and then add some toasted sesame seeds. After marinating chicken, simmer sauce in small pot to kill bacteria and thicken it a bit. I even used some of this sauce to mix with my stir fried vegetables. If you don't like your chicken so burnt, cook in 350 degree oven and finish the last 5 minutes with the broiler.
