Date: Wed, 21 Feb 1996 11:26:58 -0600 (CST) From: Jess Durrant This is a *really* wonderful lentil recipe, but Ill warn you... THIS IS NOT FAT FREE OR LOW FAT. It contains a fair amount of butter. Im going to work on a version that cuts out the butter, Ill post it when I get a good one! Sautee the garlic in the butter until browned. While the garlic is sauteeing, mix the dry spices with 2 Tbsp water to make a paste. Add the paste to the browned garlic and stir for a couple minutes. Add the lentils (make sure to rinse them) and stir for a few minutes. Add 2 1/2 cups water and simmer for an hour. Serves 4. Its great by itself or with rice!
