Pickled Beets #3 Ingredients

3 qt Small; young beets 2 ts Cloves
2 1/2 c Sugar 1 ts Allspice
2 c Water 2 ts Cinnamon
2 c Vinegar; 5% strength

Instructions for Pickled Beets #3

Wash beets and cook until tender. Dip in cold water and remove skins. Slice. Make a syrup of the remaining ingredients, pour over the sliced beets and boil slowly for 10 minutes, uncovered. Pack beets with syrup to cover into hot, sterilized jars. Seal at once.
