Chocolate Custard Cake Ingredients
CUSTARD
1 c
Sugar
3 Squares Unsweetened
2
Egg
Yolks; Well Beaten
1/2 c
Milk
2 c Cake
Flour
; Sifted
1
Egg
; Well Beaten
1/4 ts
Salt
2/3 c
Sugar
1 ts
Baking Soda
BATTER
1 c
Milk
1/2 c
Butter
Instructions for Chocolate Custard Cake
Cook chocolate, milk, egg and sugar to custard stage. Cool completely. Beat butter, sugar and egg yolks until fluffy. Add alternately dry ingredients with liquid. Blend in cooled chocolate custard. Bake 350 degrees in 8 inch pans. 25-30 minutes. Do not overbake. NOTES : When I was a student nurse, a volunteer RN brought this cake in weekly. She frosted it was a chocolate frosting.
