Ingredients

  • 1 pk Cubed pork mix; thawed, (see
  • 1 1/2 c Water
  • 3 tb Soy sauce
  • 4 tb Butter or oleo
  • 4 Stalks celery; sliced
  • 1 c Thinly sliced fresh
  • 1 cn (8 oz.) water chestnurs;
  • 2 c Fresh bean sprouts
  • 4 Green onions; thinly sliced
  • 1 cn (9 1/2 oz.) chow mein

Preparation

In large saucepan, combine pork mix, water and soy sauce. Simmer over low heat about 5 minutes. In a medium skillet, melt butter or oleo. Add celery; saute until crisp-tender, about 10 minutes. Add fresh mushrooms and water chestnuts. Saute 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir into pork mixture. Stir occasionally over medium heat 5 minutes. Gently stir in bean sprouts and green onion slices. Simmer 1 minute longer. Serve over chow mein noodles Make about 6 servings Almost forgot!! These recipes were from the More Make-A -Mix Cookery by Karine Eliason, Nevada Harward and Madeline Westover. I have used it quite a bit and their recipes have been tasty and especially nice to have on hand when I was still working.
